Raw Honeycomb is one of nature’s finest delicacies. The honeycomb is made from beeswax and contains raw honey honey – nature’s great energy source and immune system builder.
Beeswax has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that benefit your body. Give in to this sweet temptation and enjoy raw honeycomb with your preferred cheese wedge, on your favorite crackers or enjoy it coupled with a tart slice of apple.
The backbone of honeycomb are the hexagonal beeswax cells. Bees typically consume 6 pounds of honey to create 1 pound of beeswax. For every 1.1 billion flower blossoms bees visit, 1 pound of honey is created. Bee hive honey is made from the nectar from flower blossoms. Within each beeswax cell, bees deposit the flower nectar they have gathered from tens of thousands of flowers. The bees then fan their wings over the cells to evaporate the water from the nectar, leaving behind this nectar of the Gods known as honey. The typical water content of honey ranges from 15% – 17%. These honey cells are capped with beeswax and reserved for the colony food supply. Beeswax is an edible substance that helps with healing and allergies.
